If anyone is around SF and wants to hack on the new Frame AI Glasses, I'm helping them run a hackathon with Niantic on August 3rd. Details at https://lu.ma/q4slo4g7. I love the open approach they're taking, and even though the hardware is a bit under-powered, they are not making ridiculous claims like the Humane pin or the rabbit R1. I think there's actually room for this to turn into something. And it's basically the first wearable computing glasses since Google Glass that are subtle enough to wear in public (other than the Meta RayBans, which are entirely closed and thus less interesting to me)

Would the Frame Glasses work for creating something to remember people's names?

In theory you could build that. The glasses don’t have a lot of processing on themselves, so you would have to do the facial recognition on an app on the phone that talks to them over Bluetooth. But that is one of the cases I’d love to build or see someone else build
